Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell1 (born 17 February 1970) is an Australian actor best known for his role as Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break, and as the title character in John Doe.

Life and career
Purcell's mother is Irish.2 He attended Blaxland East Public School in his primary school years and went to Blaxland High School and McCarthy Catholic College for high school.
In 2000, he won a green card lottery and resided in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Rebecca Williamson and their four children Joseph (b. 1999), Audrey (b. 2001), and twins Lily and Augustus (b. 2003). The birth dates of his children are tattooed on his left forearm. On 21 October 2007, Purcell and Williamson separated.3
On 29 December 2007 while driving to Strandhill, Co Sligo on Ireland's Atlantic coast to go surfing, Purcell and his brother Damien were waved down by a lady carrying a choking baby. They saved the child's life by performing CPR until the paramedics arrived.citation needed
