Georgina Jane 'Georgie' Thompson (born 25 September 1977) is a broadcast journalist and television presenter for Sky Sports and Sky Sports News currently living in the Upminster area of Essex.

Georgie presents the 3-7pm slot from Monday to Friday with Simon Thomas on Sky Sports News.

Education

Thompson was educated at Queenswood boarding school, with now fellow television presenter and friend Natalie Pinkham, where she took part in junior international tennis competitions¹, representing England^{citation needed}. She then studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds, graduating with a 2:1 in 1999.²

Career

After graduating, Thompson worked as a production assistant on a research and production scheme for GMTV before moving to Sky Sports in January 2001.²

She has covered many major sporting events for the network since then, including the US Open Tennis and has been part of Sky's coverage of the A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix Masters, Speedway World Cup, Race of Champions and America's Cup. ³ She is a presenter on Sky Sports News,⁴ often presenting Afternoon Report.

She also presented Sky1's Greatest Sporting Legends with David Frost.⁵

Georgie is a well known Fulham FC supporter as well as being a keen surfer.

Thompson is dating Declan Donnelly, part of the famous presenting duo Ant and Dec.⁶

She also teaches ACA - Accounting for Kaplan.

In popular culture

In the May 2007 issue of the British men's magazine FHM, Georgie was voted the 93rd Sexiest Female in the World.⁷ and on the official FHM website, she is currently listed as the 52nd sexiest woman in the world.

Xfm London "Drive Time" DJ Dave Berry runs a "Georgie Thompson Watch" on each show where he gives away watches bearing Thompson's face.⁸
