Mila J (born Jamila Akiko Chilombo on November 18, 1983) is an American rapper and R&B singer. female artist signed to the TUG roster headed by Chris Stokes, creator of the groups B2K and Immature. She was born in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Christina Yamamoto and Karamo Chilombo, who is a physician. She has four full-blooded siblings: Miyoko, Jahi, Miyagi, and Jhene. She also has three half-siblings through her father's side: Marcia, Dio, and Kareena. She and her sister Miyoko were in an R&B group known as Gyrl during the 1990s. Gyrl is known for the 1997 song, "Get Your Groove On", After that, She joined another girl group called Dame Four in 2005, and had a music video called "How We Roll" that was premiering on BET's 106 & Park.
In 2006, Mila J released a solo album Split Personality, and her first song "Complete" was also released in 2006, The music video premiered on BET's 106 & Park.
