He is perhaps best known for his roles on the television series ER1 and Once and Again2 and in the film A Walk to Remember.3 He is currently acting, performing with The Germs and living in Los Angeles.4

Personal
West was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Don Snaith (a drugstore owner who was born in Jamaica) and Catherine, both of whom were musicians; he has a younger sister, Simone, and a much younger half-sister, Marli Ann. His parents divorced and at the age of 10, West moved to California with his mother.6
Awards
West won the Young Hollywood Award Male Superstar of Tomorrow in 2002. West also won a teen choice award for choice chemistry with Mandy Moore.
